Understanding Your New Mattress

|
There are a few things every consumer
should be aware of when buying a mattress: |
BODY DEPRESSIONS ON THE
SURFACE:
New bedding often retains body impressions when it is
first used. This is particularly true of today's plusher,
soft-surface bedding. It is merely settling of the cushioning
material and not an indication of structural failure. To minimize
body depressions,
turn your mattress regularly. |
 |

|
BEDDING MUST HAVE PROPER
SUPPORT:
Sagging of bedding is usually caused by either:
 | Putting a new mattress on an old box spring.
Bedding should always be bought in sets
because the mattress and box spring are designed to work together for
comfort and long life. |
OR
 | An inadequate bed frame. Any
adult bed should have a heavy duty frame with proper center support
for King and Queen sizes. Not having a center support on a
Queen or King size may void the warranty. Investing in a quality bed frame makes
sense if it prevents damage to your new bedding. |
|

|
DO...
 |
Vacuum your bedding regularly and otherwise keep it
clean. |
 |
Use the proper size mattress pad. |
 |
Turn your bedding regularly to keep the cushioning
soft and resilient. |
 |
Enjoy your new bedding. The average person
spends 1/3 of their life in bed. Investing in quality bedding
and proper care is well worth the rewards. |
|
DON'T...
 |
Don't bend the mattress to get through a doorway.
Never bend the mattress. |
 |
Don't allow children to jump on the mattress or box
spring. |
 |
Don't let the bedding get wet. Towel-dry
spills immediately. |
 |
Don't bend the corners of your mattress
to put on fitted
sheets. Instead, lift the mattress. |
|

|
 |
| |
|
ALWAYS
REMEMBER:
Putting new bedding on an
inadequate foundation can damage the bedding and reduce its useful
life. |
